Oxalic Acid Bleach ( wood bleach crystals ):
Oxalic Acid Wood Bleach will remove discoloration in wood surfaces such as black ring marks, that have been left behind do to water, moisture and tannin stains. Oxalic Acid Wood Bleach is also very effective in reducing the natural "Graying Effects" of outdoor furniture and wood. When used on new or stripped wood and furniture, it will lighten the wood, evening out the wood tones.
How to Use:
Wood must be clean and free of dirt, wax, polish, oil, paint or any type of finish. TEST first in an inconspicuous area for final effect.
1. Dissolve contents into 1 gallon. (12 to 16 ounces of oxalic acid per gallon, or 2 to 4 ounces per quart of hot tap water).
2. Apply hot solution w/scrub brush, old paint brush or disposable chip brush. Apply Oxalic Acid solution liberally and allow it to remain on surface until bleached to desired lightness.
3. Rinse treated area repeatedly w/clean water and allow to (completely) dry, making sure that ALL powder residue has been removed.
4. Repeat steps above if necessary.
5. Sand and prepare wood for desired finish.
