RENAISSANCE WAX ( wax polish ):
Renaissance Wax was originally formulated in the British Museum research laboratories in the early 1950's. Renaissance Wax Polish is a microcrystalline wax that will guard against the damaging effects of humidity and environmental contamination. Renaissance Wax Polish has a high moisture resistance and will form durable lustrous protective wax finish, helping to prevent tarnish and corrosion, when used on steel, brass, copper, silver, etc. Renaissance Wax will not damage the most sensitive materials. It is free from acids pH neutral.
About Renaissance Wax:
How the "Perfect Wax" was created...For over forty years, Renaissance Wax has been the #1 wax polish of major museums, art galleries and institutions for the preservation of the precious collections. Conservators, restorers and private individuals throughout the world depend on Renaissance Wax to protect their collections. Prior to 1950, the only wax polish available was based on beeswax and carnauba wax. Unfortunately, these natural, saponifiable products would cause damage when acids arose spontaneously through oxidation or hydrolysis. To solve the problem, a consortium of international conservationists directed a scientist from the British Museum to conduct intensive research and find the perfect wax. When he could not find any that met their exacting standards, he created a new wax, Renaissance Wax. The revolutionary formula he invented is a semi-synthetic micro-crystalline fossil-origin wax polish entirely free of, damaging acids. Renaissance Wax remains chemically neutral and is completely safe. The British Museum approved manufacture of this Renaissance Wax for its own use and for distribution to the public. And now, Renaissance Wax is available internationally.
In Addition:
Renaissance Wax is preferred by many wood turners and used as a friction polish; it dries instantly, adding protection and accentuating the woods natural beauty. Craftsmen use Renaissance Wax to protect and lubricate their tools. When Renaissance Wax is applied with steel wool or a Scotch-Brite Pad to table saws, band saws, jointers, planers, hand planes , etc., it is ideal as a rust inhibitor and friction reducer. And remember, with Renaissance Wax, a little goes a long way!
How to Apply Renaissance Wax:
Applying a very thin coat of Renaissance Wax is all that is needed...less is more when using Renaissance Wax. The surface will remain Crystal Clear through unlimited applications.
Application:
Renaissance Wax may be used on the most delicate finishes, simply use a clean soft cloth. For other applications you may consider Liberon Extra Fine Steel Wool or the finest Scotch-Brite Pad. When dry, the surface may be left matt, or if desired, it may be gently polished with a soft rag, producing a pleasing glass-clear transparent finish that buffs easily to a hard wax finish. Renaissance Wax will not discolor and is completely reversible.
Maintenance:
Maintain Renaissance Wax by wiping and buffing waxed surface with a soft clean cloth. Apply a new coat of polish as needed.
